Read this carefully before registering your team for a championship

Registration rules:
  • You must enter 6 players/team minimum with a maximum of 40, and give the email address where we can contact you anytime.
  • All registrations will be studied. Admins will mainly check the structure of the teams (website, number of members, attitudes, reputations, and so on) before deciding to allow one team in.
  • World Wide Teams are welcome to register our leagues. So the official language is English on the forums or on the news comments. Use of other languages is nevertheless tolerated on game pages or on the game servers, as long as your opponent speaks the same language as your team.
  • When you accept to join the leagues, you also accept the rules, the maps and every admins decisions.

    Roster rules for all divisions:
    • A player can play for only 1 team at the same time.
    • If a clan has 2 teams in the league, no switching will be allowed between the 1st and the 2nd team of the clan (unless a player had never played a single round for one of the team).
    • If your player has not been added in time by the admins, just use the forum post as a proof your driver is eligible to play.
    • Switching between 2 teams in the same division is disallowed.
    • Only changes with this format will be done by the admins (1. only if switched player) :
      • Player : *****
      • Team : *****
      • "New to the league" or "Switched player"
      • Old team(1) : *****

Roster rules for division 1 (D1A/D1B):
    • You can add or remove players by writing on the “Roster Change UL6 : D1A/D1B” topic on the ET Forum (which will be open only after the round 2 on Thursday).
    • Roster changes for players going up/down in divisions and NEW to the league will be done the thursday after round 2, and only after round 2. So teams in D1 will have 3 matches + playoffs to play with him.

Roster rules for other divisions (D2-N):
    • You can add or remove players by writing on the “Roster Change UL6 : D2 to D??” topic on the ET Forum. This allows all the admins (and your opponent of the week) to see that the player is indeed eligible to play.
    • Only NEW players can be added, that means that only players who were not registered in another team since the beginning of the league can be added.
    • The new players will be added only once a week : on Thursdays.
    • Roster changes for players going up/down in divisions will be done the thursday after round 3, and only after round 3. So teams in D2-N will have 4 matches to play with him.

    League Rules

      --------- Before the match -----------

    • Poules: Teams will play versus each other. 1 round/week on WEDNESDAY at 20h30 PM CET. 20h30 CET is the meeting hour. Games are supposed to start at 21h at the latest. If your opponent is not showing up on IRC before 21h15 without a warning at least 48 hours before the game hour, you win your game by forfeit.

    • Match Page: One of your team members MUST check the game page EVERYDAY if an opponent is asking you a question (to reschedule the game at a later date, to allow one driver to play, to play earlier or later than 20h30, and so on). Games pages are the PRIMARY way to communicate with your opponents before Wednesday, and we most of the time base our arbitrations on what is written on the game page.

    • Rescheduling: If one team asks soon enough (48 hours before the game, on Monday 8h30 PM CET) on the match page to reschedule a game, both teams should try to find an agreement to postpone the game at a later date, a date which will be convenient to both teams. Wednesday is only the DEFAULT date, at which a game should be played if no team has expressed his interest about moving the game. The new date MUST satisfy both teams. The team _who accepted to had to move a game because the other teams asked for it_ should not be penalized. Since there is usually a break between seasons, a solution is usually to postpone the game after the season end, when you will usually get 2 weeks.

      --------- During the match -----------

    • Rounds: Each Wednesday at 20h30 CET, challenges consist in playing on 3 maps, one after one. Meet your opponents on IRC, 30min before the match. The games are played 3 vs 3. Players can be changed between the maps, but not during a map.

    • IRC & meeting: be sure one of your players (preferably the captain) is connected to #ET.TM on quakenet before and after any challenges, so you can decide who host, what are the servers and password names. If your opponent doesnt contact you, wait until 21h15 cet and report the situation to the admins. Your TEAM wins 3-0 by forfeit. We would like to remind all the teams that msn or icq is not the way to contact your opponent. Presence on irc during league games is MANDATORY.

    • Map order: Every week, we will have three maps played in Round with a 7 points limit. The team with the lower rankings will have the choice of the first map. The team with the higher ranking will then chose the second map. The remaining map is played last. If two teams have the same ranking, they will need to find an agreement regarding which map will be played first. If they are unable to find an agreement, the league admins will "force" the map order of the game.

    • Server Settings: Use the Team mode, alternative rules. Be sure you have a good connection when you host a game. See our tutorial in forum if you have any difficulties setting up the game server correctly.

    • "O" Button: Make sure, you have the setting enabled, if you host the match on a dedicated server. This setting will disable the "hide all cars" button (default: "O") for all players. It may only be changed, if both teams agree to play with invisible cars.

    • Shortcuts: CAUTION: Shortcuts are allowed as long as they're taken between 2 CP and in the good order/way of the original track, and as long as they do not cut a whole section of the map (the so called "ugly cuts"). In this case, we will always try to get a new version of the map ready before the start of the round, and it is not possible, the use of the cut will be forbidden by admins, with replay as proof a team is using the forbidden cut. This will lead to a 0-7 map loss for the cutting team. However, in the case of a player getting out of the track after an accident, it is allowed to get back on the track taking the CP in the wrong way and respawning, since the first intention was not to use a shortcut. A player getting out of the track and having to get back to the CP is in no way gaining time, so this is allowed. Only the intentional shortcuts are prohibited. Also, the cuts left intentionally by the mapper himself are also allowed, as long as the mapper states it loud and clear on the forum or to an admin.

    • In game: Always do a few warm-up laps (2-3 laps at least). If you notice a lag during the warm-up, tell it. You are not supposed to start a round if you experience problems. Once everyone agrees to start the map, the map has to be played until the end. No change of players is allowed when a map is started. If a problem occurs, always take screenshots or replay as a proof and report immediately to an admin (there will always be 5-6 of us on irc during the games). We prefer if you come to us before the game is played than afterwards, since it’s always easier to arrange things when no map has been played.

    • Upload/Download Limitation: It is NOT allowed to put the download setting to 0 during a game, in order not to have your vision blocked by other cars. It is also strictly forbidden to put the upload setting to 0, forbidding other players to see you during the game. The main reason is that such a behavior is unfair, because your car does not appear on replays taken by others, and therefore is a gate opened to cutters and cheaters of all kind. A team caught using the 0 UL setting (not appearing on replays, but well on the score page) will be forfeited for the game for which they used the trick. If the team is caught a second time, it will be banned from the league and from future competitions.

      --------- After the match -----------

    • Results: The 1st team to 7 points wins the map. The 3 maps have to be played every Tuesday.

    • Bonus point 1: A bonus point will eventually be awarded to the team losing 2-1 while winning a superior number of runs. So, for instance, a 2-1 (7-6 7-6 1-7 or 15/21 in runs scored) scoreline will result in a 2-2 score. Therefore, when communicating the score to the admins, always give the complete scoreline when the score ends up on a 2-1.

    • Bonus point 2: A bonus point will eventually be awarded to the team losing 3-0 while scoring more than 11 runs. So, for instance, a 3-0 (7-6 7-6 7-1 or 21/13 in runs scored) scoreline will result in a 3-1 score. Therefore, when communicating the score to the admins, always give the complete scoreline when the score ends up on a 3-0.

    • Scores: With the addition of the newest bonus point, the only possible scores will be 2-1 3-0 3-1 or 2-2 (bonus point). Report the scores to your admin on IRC as soon as the game is over.

    • Standings: Only the maps wins (and bonus points awarded) will determine the standings.

    • Overdue games: If a game is postponed to a later date, and both teams cannot find an agreement to play an overdue game before the season end, both teams will receive 0 points.

    • Conflicts: Laming, Cheating, Abusing, Moaning and all other bad attitudes will be stopped right away by kicking the player or the whole team out of the league. Report bad attitudes to Admins. Do not forget to join replays that could proof your accusations

      --------- Regular season / Relegations / Playoffs -----------

    • Map Schedule: A 7 Rounds competitions means that every TMU environment will be played 3 times. Map order will be randomized, and map schedule will be release at the same time than the full UL5 map pack (on March 4th)

    • Regular season D2 and below: We will make divisions of 8 teams, leading to a 7 rounds competition, with the Round 1 on March 11 and the Round 7 on April 22.

    • Promotions: All the divisions will be ranked, the D1 gathering the best teams, while the newest teams will be placed in lower divisions. At the end of the season, the TOP 2 teams will be promoted to the upper division, while the LAST 2 teams will go down to the lower division. This being said, depending on the number of teams giving up from one season to another, one team might move up by more than one division from one season to another. On the same note, the number of divisions might expand or shrink from one season to another depending on the number of registrations. Check the division proposal topic (which usually open the week before the league Round 1) on the forum to discuss the initial positionning of your team in the divisions.

    • Regular season D1: The D1 will gather the best 12 teams of the TMU Community. The division will be split in two (D1A and D1B), and teams will be split equally between these two divisions. We will use the UL4 final standings: UL4 champion will go to D1A, UL4 2nd and 3rd will go to D1B, 4th and 5th to D1A, 6th and 7th for D1B, and so on. Regular season in D1 will therefore last 5 rounds. Round 1 is planned for Mar 11, and Round 5 for April 8th. The map schedule will be the same as for the other divisions, which means that one environment will be played 3 times. The “lucky” environment will randomized over the seasons, which means that if for instance, Island is picked at the “lucky” environment during UL6, it will NOT be considered for the next 6 seasons, and might not come back as the “lucky” environment before UL12.

    • D1 Playoffs : At the end of the short regular season, a 2 round playoffs will start in D1, during which the best two teams of each D1 division will face each other on all 7 environments over a 2 week period. In case of a tie between two teams at the end of the regular season, only the maps win during the head to head confrontation during the regular season will determine who finished in front of the other.
      Playoffs Round 1:
      D1A 1st vs D1B 2nd
      D1A 2nd vs D1A 1st
The final will oppose the winner of these two games in a 2 weeks / 7 maps confrontation, at the end of which the winner of the UL5 will be known. Former champions of the UL are: LM (UL1 & UL2) and CMC (UL3, UL4)

    • Other D1 postseason games 1: While the best teams will fight for the title, the bottom 2 teams of each D1 will also fight to avoid relegation, also in a 2 weeks / 7enviro confrontation.
      Relegation games:
      D1A 5th vs D1B 6th
      D1A 6th vs D1B 5th
The losers of these two games the end will be relegated in D2 for the UL6.

    • Other D1 postseason games 2: There will also be a number of seeding games at the end of the playoffs, played in 2 weeks / 7 enviros:
      - between the losers of the Round 1 playoffs for the 3rd and 4th place
      - between the D1B 3rd and D1A 3rd for the 5th and 6th place
      - between the D1B 4rd and D1A 4rd for the 7th and 8th place
      - between the winners of the two relegation games for the 9th and 10th place.
This will allow us to have a full 12 teams standings at the end of the season, which will be our official leaderboard, and will also be used for the division repartition in the next season (UL6).

    • Map pack: map packs will be available in the download section . Admins are doing their best to choose the best maps possible. Release of the complete UL4 pack will be on Sept 24 at around 20h CET.
    • Admins might change/add rules to improve the leagues at any time
