Just to clearify things, you are supposed to pick your map on the server right before the match. NOT several days before the match, got it?

Apparently some people didn't know that there is NO break before the playoff start, so this is just a reminder for those people.

In fear of fucking it up again with creating the playoffs on this site, I decided to make it on an other site. Here it is:
http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=292182&tclass=STC-bracket
As you can see, you cant contact your opponents at that site. Just check your opponent's contact-info here, and contact them on email/irc/msn/whatever.

| Match Coverage week 1 part 2 | 01 September 2008, 15:14 |
In our next match, we have Cryo vs Shadows.
Interviewed: Arcalys and Card Nox
Bergie: Hi Arcalys. May you introduce yourself to our readers?
Arcalys: Hi, i'm Axel "Arcalys" Fontana, 21 years, and i'm the captain of Cryo Gaming.
Bergie: You are the captain of Cryo, a clan with mixed nationalities, such as Belgian, French and so on. Some of the readers may not know that much about Cryo, so could you please tell them a bit about Cryo’s history as a TM-clan?
Arcalys: Well, we were previously playing for several international clans, like Devoted for Ironmike, TryA for BlizZ, Ddie and spy, ouN and ubi for most of the others. We decided to create that new team in June, because we weren't satisfied of our own multigamings, and contacted some of our "tmn friends". One by one, we recruited new players, and here we are now =)
Bergie: If you had to pick one specific thing/area that reflects Cryo’s success, what would that be?
Arcalys: would say that our best quality is to get a certain cohesion in the team, with players sharing their own experiences and motivating each other.
Bergie: You are facing Shadows, best clan from Netherlands. What do you have to say about them, and their strengths/weaknesses?
Arcalys: Well, i cant really talk about their strengths or weaknesses, but Shadows is a respected team on Trackmania, counting some of the best dutch players. I just hope we'll have a good match !
Bergie: In football, you have these key-duels like the midfield-playmaker in the home-team vs the midfield-playmaker in the away-team. Do you feel there are any duels like these in this match aswell, which will be crucial for the outcome?
Arcalys: in a teams tournament, even if a player can do a difference by being stronger than anybody, i think the whole team has to fight. And the winner will probably be the most consistent team.
Bergie: Anything else you want to say before this interview ends?
Arcalys: thanks for the interview Bergie, and let's have a good match Cryo-Shadows ! :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bergie: Hi Card Nox. May you introduce yourself to our readers?
Card Nox: My nick is (Card) Nox which refers to my real name Nard Cox. I'm 22 years young and i'm in the final year of my bachelor study. I've been racing TMN since 09-2006, so thats about 2 years now. I have a lovely girlfriend who unfortunately doesn't like TMN as much as I do :( but eventhough this tragic fact were are still together for about 5 years now.
Bergie: You are playing for Shadows, undoubtly the best Dutch clan there is in Trackmania Nations nowadays. Could you please give us a brief of Shadows history?
Card Nox: Well thanks for the compliment. Like you said we are by far the best Dutch-only TMN clan a.t.m. and hopefully will be for quite a while.
Before we joined the multigaming organisation Shadows (11-2007) the group had the name AEger. But after some weak sponsoring / no website / etc we searched for a new organisation which became Shadows. Our team currently exists out of 8 active players, 6 of these players have been togother for a year or even longer so we really got to know eachother.
Bergie: You are facing Cryo, a strong and upcoming top-team with mixed nationalities. What do you have to say about them, and their strengths/weaknesses?
Card Nox: Looking at there current line-up they have some awesome players, like the recently joined Ddie and spy which are well known in the community. But as we all know a couple of good players don't make a team. So now they are getting a chance to really establish themselves as a team and show everyone what they are capable of. There strenght will be the good individual quality of the players. The weaknesses we will find out on monday ;)
Bergie: In football, you have these key-duels like the midfield-playmaker in the home-team vs the midfield-playmaker in the away-team. Do you feel there are any duels like these in this match aswell, which will be crucial for the outcome?
Card Nox: There's no tention at all between our two teams or between individual players from both teams. Shadows is really close as a team, we try to train together as much as possible. So monday when we will face Cryo we will race them like a team and not like five individual racers who are all trying there very best.
Bergie: Anything else you want to say before this interview ends?
Card Nox: Lets hope for a nice match vs Cryo and lots of other nice matches past the division round ;) !
GL & HF!

| Match Coverage | 01 September 2008, 15:12 |
Hello, and welcome to ET’s weekly pre-match coverage!
In this edition, the very first of this season’s STC-tournament, we have these two matches where we interviewed their captains: NorD vs BB and cryo vs Shadows.
First up: Rev and Bergie
Bergie: Hi Rev. May you introduce yourself to our readers?
Rev: Good evening everybody. My real name is Tilo Lützner from germany, bavaria. I'm 21 years old and recently i'm serving an apprenticeship as IT-specialist.
I'm playing TMN since the very beginning and i think it won't stop in the near future ;).
Bergie: You are playing for Nordlichter(NorD), a top german clan, who’s got an incredible history in Trackmania. Can you tell us a bit more about the history of NorD?
Rev: Well, i joined NorD back in January this year. When i started playing in NorD we just started playing in the TNA-Tournament. This tournament ended in 2nd playoff round, so it wasn't really successful for us at all. Furthermore we finished the first season of the ESL-Premiership as second place. In the beginning of this season our aim was only to stay in the first league not even thinking about being able to take part in the play offs, so we were quite happy about it. And i can say that we're the team that got the most slots(5) at the ESWC national final this and last year. But actually the only success in this section is clane, who was able to reach the 5th place in the grand final back in 2006.
Bergie: If you had to pick one specific thing that reflects NorD’s success, what would that be?
Rev: NorD rocks since more than 2 and a half years, always stayed independent and chooses its members wisely
Bergie: You are facing BadBoys(BB), unofficially Norway’s best Clan with some fine players. What do you have to say about them, and their strengths/weaknesses?
Rev: We're unofficially the best (only) german team so I think will be a very exciting and hard match where no one could know who'll win. I can't say much about their strenghts and weaknesses because I experienced many surprises in the premierleague of the ESL Premiership Season 1 of some teams that made it hard for me and our other members to judge a team by their past performances
Bergie: In football, you have these key-duels like the midfield-playmaker in the home-team vs the midfield-playmaker in the away-team. Do you feel there are duels like these in this match aswell, which will be crucial for the outcome?
Rev: No, i don't think so. It'll be a pure team performance decision
Bergie: Anything else that you want to say before this interview ends?
Rev: Sure. As the referee of celebrity deathmatch always said "I want a good clean fight".
RedStorm: Hi Bergie. May you introduce yourself to our readers?
Bergie: Hi everyone, I’m Fredrik “Bergie “ Bergmann and I’m 17 years old. I’ve been playing Trackmania since April 2006, and currently I’m playing for Bad Boys.
RedStorm: You are one of the star players in Bad Boys, a clan consisting of Norwegians only. Some of the readers may not know that much about Bad Boys, so could you please tell them a bit about Bad Boys history as a TM-clan?
Bergie: Bad Boys are one of the oldest Norwegian Clans, with a great history when it comes to achievements. They have beaten several top-Norwegian clans, and done some great results in individual-tournaments. Even so, they have never marked themselves internationally, however it’s about time now
RedStorm: If you had to pick one specific thing/area that reflects BB’s success, what would that be?
Bergie: Tough question.. Guess I would pick our communication within the team. We are strong and never fight about anything, and also we are good at motivating ourselves.
RedStorm: You are facing NorD, undoubtly the best clan from Germany. What do you have to say about them, and their strengths/weaknesses?
Bergie: NorD are without a doubt an amazing team. Don’t have anything bad to say about them, I got a lot of respect for the germans and others do aswell. I expect the best from NorD, because they have been around for so long and have always been a great team.
RedStorm: In football, you have these key-duels like the midfield-playmaker in the home-team vs the midfield-playmaker in the away-team. Do you feel there are any duels like these in this match aswell, which will be crucial for the outcome?
Bergie: You always have these duels that the players are thinking of in front of a match. Some teams have 1-2 incredible players that the other team has to watch out for, but I believe the teamplay is way more important in a team-match. The teams have to play as a team, not several individuals. The most consistent team will win in the end, not the fastest driver who finishes only 1/10 rounds=)
RedStorm: Anything else you want to say before this interview ends?
Bergie: Not really, just GL HF and may the gayness be with BB!

| STC5 Confirmations | 16 August 2008, 14:06 |
All team captains should have received an email with instructions on confirming their team's participation in STC5.
You have until the 23rd of August to confirm, so please do so promptly.
The confirmations topic is here: http://www.et-generation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4473
On another note, we already have 2 spaces, as we have two cases of 2 teams merging into one. That means the first two teams on the waiting list should be able to play STC5.
