Read this carefully before registering to the GC5

The GC5 TMU is a Round mode competition. Over the preliminary phase, 9 tournaments will be played between Wednesday July 11th to Monday September 3rd.

Registration rules:
  • You can only register to a maximum of 3 tournaments over the course of the preliminary phase. So you will need to pick carefully which tournaments you plan to register to.
  • 80 spots will be available every week, and a waiting list will be open on the forum for late registration.
  • You NEED to use the forum to unregister to one of the tournaments on which you were registered. The message on the forum has to be poster before Noon on Tournament day. Failing to show up to a tournament for which you registered will cause you to score 0 points for this tournament.
  • Furthermore, we will prevent people from abusing this system (registering one week in advance only to drop a few minutes before Noon on Tournament day) by preventing this driver to register the next week.
  • You NEED to register to the competition under the name / login which you will use to play on the server. Admins on the server will kick people who are now on their registration list.
  • You NEED to register using the same name for each of the 3 tournaments.
  • In order to allow everyone to play, the Tournaments 1-3 will be played on Wednesdays, the Tournaments 4-6 will be played on Tuesdays, and the Tournaments 7-9 will be played on Mondays.
  • When you accept to join the GC5, you also accept the rules, the maps and every admins’ decisions.

Tournament Rules

    --------- Before the match -----------

  • Server list: Before every tournament, we will publish a list of the registered drivers, and the servers on which they’ll have to play. You need to show up on your assigned server. You will be kicked from every server on which you are not supposed to be.
  • Server location: The GC5 servers will be located in Estonia for convenience reasons (will be much more easier for everyone to find them)
  • Meeting: All the drivers are supposed to meet on their assigned servers at 20h15 CET. There will be an admin present on every GC5 server. He will be in charge to check who is on the guest list, and who isn’t. People not on the gest list will be banned from the server.
  • Start hour: The admin on the server will launch the competition at 20h30 CET. Late arrivals will be allowed, but you will lose a few runs in the process, and therefore you will less points than you could possibly have.
  • Map pack: A 21 map pack (3 per environments) will be available to download on July 4th at 20h CET, which will contain all the maps which will be used over the entire 9 Tournaments. Every map will therefore be played 3 times. A complete map schedule will also be available tonight.

    --------- During the match -----------

  • Rounds: The 16 drivers present on each server will play 10 runs on each of the 7 maps. In all, 70 runs will be played for every tournament you are registered to.
  • Scoring system: We will use the Moto GP scoring system (1st: 25 points / 2nd: 20 points / (…) / 13th: 2 points / 14-16th : 1 point), which allows the first 14 drivers to have decreasing points. We feel this system is a much better one compared to the standard Nadeo Round scoring system, where all the drivers under the 5th place get only 1 points. Winning all the runs on one map will therefore get you 250 points. Which means that the theoretical max point for a 7 maps Tournament will be 1750 points, and 5250 points for the 3 tournaments you will participate to.
  • Map order: We will use the following map order for the GC5 Tournaments: Stadium / Speed / Island / Rally / Bay / Snow / Coast.
  • Admins: The admin present on the server might play one of his tournament while managing the server, so be very nice to him if he’s managing AND playing at the same time. He will be in charge of taking the screenshots at the end, and giving the scores on each map to the Head admin once all the 7 maps have been played. Since we will play on Slig’s FAST servers, we will also have the logs for each runs in order to settle the potential complains.
  • Shortcuts: CAUTION: "Shortcuts are allowed as long as they're taken between 2 CP and in the good oder/way of the original track". But in the case of a player getting out of the track after an accident, it is allowed to get back on the track taking the CP in the wrong way and respawning, since the first intention was not to use a shortcut. A player getting out of the track and having to get back to the CP is in no way gaining time, so this is allowed. Only the intentional shortcuts are prohibited.
  • In game: The tournaments start at 20h30 after a few warm up laps. We will have a few warm-up laps (2-3 laps) between each of the 7 maps.
  • Upload/Download Limitation: It is NOT allowed to put the download setting to 0 during a game, in order not to have your vision blocked by other cars. It is also strictly forbidden to put the upload setting to 0, forbidding other players to see you during the game. The main reason is that such a behavior is unfair, because your car does not appear on replays taken by others, and therefore is a gate opened to cutters and cheaters of all kind. A player caught using the 0 UL setting (not appearing on replays, but well on the score page) will be forfeited for the Tournament for which they used the trick. If the player is caught a second time, he will be banned from the league and from future competitions.
  • Conflicts: Laming, Cheating, Abusing, Moaning and all other bad attitudes will be stopped right away by kicking the player out of the competition. Report bad attitudes to Admins. Do not forget to join replays that could proof your accusations

    --------- After the match -----------

  • Results: The Head admins (Mazzy or Inso) will gather all the scores, screenshots and logs for all the servers. We will issue the standings as soon as humanly possible after the end of the last race. All the players will be ranked according to the number of points scored over the tournaments played so far. This ranking will be used after Round 9 to determine which drivers will go to the playoffs.
  • Next round: Once the Overall Ranking is available (hopefully around Midnight on game day), the registration for the next tournament will be open.
  • Second Ranking: We will also issue a ranking using the Points / Tournaments, which will be used weekly to split the drivers between the servers, and to even the level of play on all the servers.
  • Ranking oer environments: Finally, we might also provide a Ranking per environments, which could be used to determine who are the best drivers on a specific environment. But this ranking will probably get out later in the week.

Playoffs

  • The 64 drivers at the top of the Overall Standing at the end of Tournament 9 (Mon Sept 3rd) will be invited to play the playoffs.
  • A 7 maps playoff pack will be released on Sept 3rd at 20h CET.
  • Round 1 will be played on 4 server (containing each 16 spots) on Mon Sept 10th. The best 4 drivers on each server will be qualified for the Big Final.
  • The Big Final will be played on Tuesday September 11th, on the same maps, and one week before the start of the UL2 season (schedules for September 18th). The GC5 Champion will be the driver scoring the most points on the 70 runs.

  • Admins might change/add rules to improve the leagues at any time
